Chicka Chicka Boom Boom educational show
As we head into a new school year, I'm very excited to announce my educational performance entitled Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. After several successful performances at the Carnegie Arts Center and the Cincinnati Art Museum, I am currently booking school performances for the 2009-10 school year. In the show I demonstrate how almost anything can be used to make music if we simply think about some basic musical concepts like timbre, pitch, dynamics, and rhythm. Along the way we dabble in physics and math and end the show with more than 30 kids onstage performing in an impromptu junk percussion ensemble. It's a lot of fun and I would love to bring it to your school. Contact me for booking information.
Also new this fall is my new salsa/latin jazz group Mambo Diablo. This five piece group plays music inspired by the sixties sound of Joe Cuba, Cal Tjader and Mongo Santamaria. Go here for more info and be sure to check the calendar for upcoming performances.
